Your Fertility Story Matters – This NIAW, Let’s Break the Silence Together
Infertility affects 1 in 6 people worldwide, yet the emotional toll often remains hidden behind closed doors. This National Infertility Awareness Week (NIAW), observed from April 20–26, 2025, we invite you to join Prelude Fertility in breaking the silence and embracing this year’s theme: #ALLinFertility
Why Sharing Your Story Matters
Infertility is more than a medical diagnosis—it’s a deeply personal journey that can feel isolating and overwhelming. By sharing your story, you can:
- Build Community: Connect with others who understand your experience, fostering a sense of belonging.
- Find Validation: Realize that your feelings are valid and that you are not alone in your struggles.
- Support Mental Health: Expressing your journey can alleviate stress and promote emotional well-being.
As RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association emphasizes, sharing stories empowers individuals and helps change the conversation around infertility.
Tips for Starting the Conversation
Talking about infertility can feel incredibly vulnerable. If and when you feel ready, opening up to a trusted friend or family member can be a powerful step toward healing and connection. But remember—you’re never obligated to share more than you’re comfortable with.
Here are a few gentle prompts to help you get started, if you choose to:
- “I want to share something personal with you about my journey to start a family.”
- “Lately, I’ve been facing some challenges with fertility, and I’d appreciate your support.”
- “It’s National Infertility Awareness Week, and I feel it’s important to talk about my experience.”
There’s no right or wrong way to share your story—and no timeline. You’re allowed to protect your peace and choose when (or if) you want to speak up.
Embracing #ALLinFertility
The #ALLinFertility campaign highlights the diverse experiences of those navigating infertility—reminding us that no two journeys are the same. Join the movement by participating in RESOLVE’s 5-Day Challenge during NIAW if and when it feels right for you. There’s no pressure to share or post—just an open invitation to engage in a way that honors your experience.
Here’s how you can take part:
- #ALLinTheJourney – Share your personal experience (only if you’re ready).
- #ALLinConnection – Highlight the people or communities that have supported you.
- #WearOrange2025 – Show your support visually without saying a word.
- #ALLinForAccess – Support advocacy for expanding access to fertility care.
- #ALLinFertility – Help fund the movement—consider a donation to RESOLVE.
Whether you speak out publicly or connect quietly, know that you are part of a community that sees and supports you.
